Clay Nightingale are a band from San Marcos.
Their self-released album, The River and Then the Restless Wind came out in 2007.
You could say they sound a little like older Wilco, Silver Jews, alt-country, alt-country...
You could say they sound exactly like the inside of a good ol' Texas hipster's head after a night at the bar.
The lyrics are as smart as you are with your broken heart and sleepy eyes and all of your best best friends. Wrap that up in a rich country twang and you'll make it through the night.
If "A Song For You, For Me" isn't your new anthem by album's end, you can have your money back.
But if you like it, I highly advise you to head to their myspace and buy a copy. Be sweet and do that.
Hear it HERE.
